Akbari pistachio is one of the types of Iranian pistachio which is known as a luxury and unique product in Iran. Its shape is elongated. Its shell color is cream and its seed color is characterized by purple, brown and greenish colors. This product is cultivated in tropical regions of Iran such as Rafsanjan. It is categorized in sizes 24/22, 22/20 and 20/18. Akbari pistachios are found in three types: raw, roasted and roasted-salted.
Pistachios contain dietary fibers. It is a very rich source of vitamin B6, which is responsible for regulating blood sugar and forming hemoglobin. Although a few pistachios contain 12 grams of fat, but 90% of these fats are healthy fats. Akbari elongated pistachio also contains a significant amount of zeaxanthin and lutein like other types of pistachios. These two special antioxidants are vital for eye health.
