Kabkab date is a kind of fruit with a very delicious taste, sweet flesh and thin shell. In Iran, Kabkab dates are cultivated mainly in Bushehr province and in Dashtestan and Barazjan cities.
It is dark brown in color when fully ripe and if it is almost ripe, it is yellow. Its fruit is oval with a thick shell that adheres to the flesh. The moisture content is close to 18%, which puts it in the group of semi-dry or wet dates. Its length is between 3.5 and 4 cm.
Due to the abundance of magnesium, iron and calcium, Kabkab dates are recommended to supply energy to the body, especially during the day, for hard physical and intellectual activities, or for athletes. This date is an excellent food for quenching thirst and is a great source of iron and minerals useful for the body.
