Barhi dates are among the most desirable international commercial dates, whose main cultivation area is in the cities of Abadan and Khorramshahr in Iran. This fruit is oval in shape. It has a soft texture and is considered one of the fresher dates. In the Kharak phase, this product has a yellow color. This product can be found with an amber-yellow color, when it becomes a date. Also, its color turns light brown when this date is fully ripe. Barhi dates are one of the smallest dates in Iran and have a caramel taste similar to brown sugar.
This date has vitamin B, fiber and is rich in iron and is useful for anemia, stress and nerves. A syrup is prepared from Barhi dates, which solves the problems of lung infection and cough very well. This syrup is also used to treat kidney problems and relieve stomach ache.
